Speaking of faux flowers, back in the dining room you may have noticed an arrangement in the corner. There are mercury glass candles on the other side that are on a timer, I love those things! I have faux hydrangeas in a pewter vase from my Granny and a mercury pumpkin on a cake plate. My coffee table is pretty simple right now.

I printed it off for free and framed it, cute cute! I have one for October and November so I’ll change it out as the season rolls by.

I love this pretty fall quote from the Dear Lillie blog. I am going to change the message from time to time with different fall messages. I painted a scrap piece of wood with chalkboard paint and now it is a cute fall sign. I bought a second piece of garland this year with a pottery barn coupon to put above the mirror. I have a wreath that matches my pottery barn garland on the door that goes to the backyard. The fall decor in this room is mostly on the bookcase and the coffee table. It’s nice and bright and my buddy Harper likes to sit on the leather chair and watch squirrels. I use this room as my home office and spend lots of hours blogging and reading on the couch. To the other side of the dining room is our living room. I had our dining room table made for us out of an old butcher block by my friend Michael in Chicago and I love it. They are so cute and I can have them out all of September, October, and November. This year I added LED lights to it, fancy! I was able to find a few mercury glass pumpkins on sale at HomeGoods earlier this year for bargain prices and I’m glad I stocked up. It was worth the money because it looks like real leaves. I bought this fall garland on sale last year at Pottery Barn and I love it. The only thing cuter than pumpkins is mini pumpkins under a glass dome… I took this picture through the mercury glass mirror on the wall… It looks cute when the candle is lit at night. I found the chocolate sparkly wreath at HomeGoods on my last visit and decided to use it as part of the center piece on the table. I really need a rug but that is a different topic… This is a look at our dining room, I’ve added a few new things this year and it is starting to feel quite homey. Can you believe the orange mercury pumpkin in the picture below was already on clearance for $3 there? A word to the wise, shop for fall decor because they put the Christmas stuff out! Every year it gets earlier and earlier, I started to see Christmas at some of my favorite stores last week! I also put together a few vignettes with items that I found at Michael’s craft store. This year I had really good luck at HomeGoods finding cute things that I’ve seen at Pottery Barn for a fraction of the price. I’m always looking for things that will look nice from September through Thanksgiving. Am I turning into my mother already? He said, “I don’t know why you work so hard to make our house look nice for the holidays when no one is around to enjoy it.” I refuse to give in to his point so I decided to take some pictures and have you all over for a peek at my pumpkins!Įach year I add a few more pieces to my seasonal repertoire and by far the most difficult season to buy for is fall. I’m mostly sharing this post because my husband uttered a phrase that my dad used to say to my mom growing up and it freaked me out. This midwest girl always thinks it’s summer with this California sunshine! I know it might seem early to have pumpkins out but I need to see them to remind myself what time of year it is. I know it might seem crazy for a blogger to do this but I want to be honest with you. I’ll admit it, here at Kuzak’s Closet I buy my most of my decor…as in go to the store and buy it. I know most bloggers out there are sharing the fall decor that they’ve crafted from sticks and reclaimed wood but this is not that kind of post.
